Vector Awards Over $50,000 in Entrance Scholarships to Our MDS Students
Our incoming students have garnered a big win with big entrance scholarships, courtesy of Vector, a Toronto-based organization that aims to improve the lives of Canadians through the use of AI research. In total, $70,000 of funding from the Vector Scholarship in Artificial Intelligence was awarded to UoG students, with $52,500 being awarded to students entering into our very own Masters of Data Science program. We are proud to celebrate these merit-based scholarships wins, and wish to congratulate all of the successful candidates.
U of G VSAI 2021 Winners | College of Engineering and Physical Sciences - University of Guelph
Three CEPS master’s students have received Vector Scholarships in Artificial Intelligence.
One mathematics and two engineering students will receive Vector Scholarships in Artificial Intelligence (VSAI), valued at $17,500, as they embark on their master’s degrees in artificial intelligence (AI) at the University of Guelph in Fall 2021.
UoG Launches Master of Data Science Program
Training the next generation of in-demand data scientists for numerous fields is the goal of a new course-based master’s degree to be launched at the University of Guelph this fall pending formal program approval.
The new data science program will focus on spatial-temporal data – data collected over time and space — used in agriculture, supply chain and transportation technologies and in industries such as environment, meteorology, biology and health, among other fields.
