Graduate Research Conference
The 5th annual Southwestern Ontario Graduate Mathematics and Statistics Conference will be held in early summer 2018. Exact dates and registration information will be posted here when known. If you are interested in the conference, please contact the organizers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Southwestern Ontario Graduate Mathematics and Statistics Conference (SOGMSC) is a graduate student-organized conference held annually at the University of Guelph.
The aim of the conference is to provide graduate students the opportunity to present their original research and learn about the exciting research being conducted by their peers.
The majority of the program will consist of 15-25 minute presentations by both undergraduate and graduate students. There will also be a poster session.
Talks on any topic in mathematics or statistics are welcome! Your talk can be based on completed research, ongoing research, preliminary results or anything and everything in between.
This conference is free to all participants and travel expenses are reimbursed on a first-come, first-serve basis to all conference speakers.
The conference was founded in 2013 by Andrew Skelton to provide graduate students with a free, low-pressure opportunity to present their results and gain conference experience.
The conference is greatly appreciative of the financial and logistic support of its sponsors: the Department of Mathematics & Statistics, the Fields Institute, the Graduate Students' Association and the Student Committee of the Canadian Mathematical Society.
