Graduate Research Conference

SOGMSC Conference

The Southwestern Ontario Graduate Mathematics and Statistics Conference (SOGMSC) is a graduate student-organized conference held annually at the University of Guelph.

The aim of the conference is to provide graduate students the opportunity to present their original research and learn about the exciting research being conducted by their peers.

The majority of the program will consist of maximum 15 minute presentations by both undergraduate and graduate students.

Talks on any topic in mathematics or statistics are welcome! Your talk can be based on completed research, ongoing research, preliminary results or anything and everything in between.

This conference is free to all participants; travel expense reimbursement for conference speakers is still tentative with updates to come at a later date.

History

The conference was founded in 2013 by Andrew Skelton to provide graduate students with a free, low-pressure opportunity to present their results and gain conference experience.

The conference is greatly appreciative of the financial and logistic support of its sponsors: the Department of Mathematics & Statistics, the Fields Institute, the Graduate Students' Association and the Student Committee of the Canadian Mathematical Society.
