ABSTRACT:

With Canada’s understanding of the effects of climate change and the policies they have put forward in the attempt to be net-zero by 2050, this thesis aims to model the adoption both the electric cars and solar panel federal policies and determine if there are any factors that would make the individual more likely to adopt one of these policies. Using agent-based modelling, this thesis determines if an individual’s income or perception of climate policies might impact their adoption rate, and if there are any ways for the government to increase the level of adoption.
