Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Program Outline

To complete the Bachelor of Science with a Mathematical Science major, you will complete 40 courses.

The official program outline can be found in the Undergraduate Course Calendar.

View the lists of Mathematics courses and Statistics courses offered by the department.

Speaking to an Academic Advisor is the best way to ensure you complete the requirements for your degree.

Stream (11 courses)

  • Mathematics Stream
    • Linear Algebra, Advanced Calculus, Differential Equations, Real Analysis, and other higher level Mathematics and Statistics courses that suit your interest!
  • Statistics Stream
    • Mathematical Statistics, Regression Analysis, and other higher level Mathematics and Statistics courses that suit your interest!

Note: This decision does not have to be made until you have completed advanced courses in both fields and there is a significant amount of flexibility with regards to switching if you change your mind later in your studies!

Area of Emphasis (5 courses)

Areas of Emphasis allow you to incorporate studies in another field into your Mathematical Science major!

We have a number of set Areas of Emphasis to choose from, but you may also consider designing an Individualized Area of Emphasis in consultation with an Academic Advisor!

Electives (8 courses)

This is your chance to take subjects in any field and diversify your interests.

Note: You will require two electives from the Arts and Social Sciences
